Matthew Halton became one of Canada's best known journalists in the lead up and during most of the major battles that his country participated in. "Matt" never forgot his humble beginnings in Pincher Creek, including the work of his mother, Mary Thornley Halton on the Pincher Creek Echo, that inspired a journalistic dynasty. The Halton name has carried on to son David, an internationally renowned television journalist with the CBC in the latter half of the 20th century. Included in this podcast is an excerpt from David Halton's appearance on the Steve Malkin show on TVO - in which the elder Halton is described as the subject of "Dispatches From The Front." David will be in Pincher Creek, Sep 14 2019 to help reopen the new Rocky Mountain Echo museum exhibit at Kootenai Brown Pioneer Village.
