FISHBURN SCHOOL
Wednesday Oct 02, 2019
Wednesday Oct 02, 2019
The Canadian Prairies of the settlement era were dotted with thousands of one-room country schoolhouses. It's an often romanticized era, where one school teacher could enthrall a room full of wide-eyed farm kids, and offer the best education that could be afforded. The Fishburn School is one of Kootenai Brown Pioneer Village's most popular exhibits for all ages. The building and the district encompassed an incredible 69 years of operation, from 1894-1963, ]the last one room schools to close in south-western Alberta.
